and clicking the Login button again invalidates the previous 2FA code, and requires switching to the email client again, setting up for failure over and over again.
Use of a "standard" modal component ended up being incredibly inconsiderate and user-hostile.
My mom could not log in to #Ryanair's website, because their site is awful — they demand an e-mailed 2FA code to be entered in a modal, but clicking anywhere on the page outside of the modal closes it!
So my mom was switching from an mail client to back the browser window by clicking the page, which ended up closing the 2FA modal. Endless confusion and frustration from bad web design.

Just boosted a post about this, but I'm including it again in a separate link because, damn, what a story this is. (And it's largely a transcript of a 60 minutes interview, with pictures of location as well, for those concerned about trying to follow it in video.) The way archeologists and genealogists and coincidence all come together is... really something. A kind of cosmic justice.
Also, it reminds me I should watch Roots properly some time soon.

The Amazon device issue will be out in the news this weekend
@sjvn @briankrebs will have the story from different angles
CNBC in the US will have the initial coverage from a TV angle.
Expect it then to cascade globally to all other news sites including BBC, Guardian, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, RTE, Nine Network News Australia initially.
The good news is that Amazon are taking it seriously
Please boost
