oh yeah so early in William's route he's like, "Night, whore." and my first thought was "Nik would sooner pluck out his own tongue than say something like that" but I cut Will some slack once he started talking about shame and arousal and realized that he was fucked up in a fun way

They posted a few days ago that preorders from up to July 20 are shipping this month, so they probably do not want to accidentally give the impression that they haven't updated since 2019

definitely feels like the business cases for using twitter are drying up.
I tried visiting the twitter account for analogue-co on my phone to check for news about preorders and saw that they no longer show you an account's newest tweets when you're logged out. Probably not a problem for shitpost accounts but not so good if you're trying to convince customers that you haven't disappeared with, for example, their kickstarter money

Don't know who needs to hear this, but the recent explainer about "Web Environment Integrity":
- will not ship in current form (I'll block it; and yes, I can do that)
- was not an "official" Google propsoal. Individuals with @google.com (and @microsoft.com, etc.) addrs do dumb stuff all the time (ask me how I know!)
- is very much worth worrying about as a direction of travel, but not without context

Murdoch's campfire speech seemed like it was trying to suggest something similar to Arthur Machen's The Great God Pan, where a lobotomy-like operation reveals the spirit world. But it wasn't really proofread or very well thought-out so it's just nonsense instead

I didn't like Cliff's route at all. The plot isn't doing much and the use of language is often sloppy. I thought this was due to who was writing it, but the same writer apparently did the most recent updates of all 4 routes and Cliff's never really improved as much as I'd hoped.

IIRC Sam never directly confesses in Murdoch's route, and because of that he ends up as a surprisingly sinister figure at points. The plot has less to do with the intro but the combo of the family drama, the missing kids and Murdoch's knowledge of Echo's weirdness is interesting enough to carry it.

I finished off the current public build of The Smoke Room. I'm assuming there won't be a single canonical route, but so far Nik's seems like the one that follows most logically from the introduction. William's route is funny because after Sam confesses, Will's like "atta boy! lets learn ya to defend yerself" and then it turns into a procedural where Sam's presence is only sometimes required
