4/10 Apple’s usual excuse? “Security”
The CMA didn’t buy it:
🔎 Chrome, Firefox, and other major browsers meet high security standards
🔎 Apple can share hardware security APIs like Pointer Authentication Codes
🔎 Safari’s “security edge” is not backed by the available evidence

Forcing all iOS browsers to use WebKit hurts developers, users, and the web itself.

I see people unwilling or ashamed to share their joyous moments right now, like anything that’s not constant, active resistance is somehow frivolous and shows a lack of commitment.

But isn’t that why we’re doing all this? At the end of the day, I don’t resist fascism to prove them wrong or prove my worth, I’m doing it so I can live. So that other people can live a life full of those good moments.

Joy and living isn’t just a necessary component to fighting fascism. It’s the whole point.

I only need to know 2 things about the Wisconsin Supreme Court election:

  1. Judges are the last reasonable roadblock slowing down the Project 2025 plan.

  2. Elon Musk and the Project 2025 crew don't want Susan Crawford to win. They're scared.

Susan Crawford. That's the only name I need to know.

https://www.crawfordforwi.com/

The other person's name doesn't matter. Their platform doesn't matter.

So resist the very human urge to talk about that person and why they are bad.

Because name recognition affects judge elections more than you think. A lot of people are just going to vote for whichever name they've heard most. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Elon is dumping in millions to make sure that as many people have heard that other name as possible.

You can't fight that by also saying that other name.

Talk about this name instead.

Susan Crawford.

That's who they don't want to win.

We live in interesting times. Friend of mine is a scientist in France. He just got briefing on what to do when traveling to the US. He was told to use an empty, freshly installed laptop with nothing but his presentation on it. Uninstall all messengers and social media. If he has to surrender any of his devices even for a minute, he shall get it checked by the French secret service for back-doors and Trojans.

I guess I rather stay home than going to a conference in the US.

Dear Lazyweb,

Our beloved Ribley has suffered some major head injuries over the years, and so I'd like to replace the skull. Where can I get one?

Home Depot sells a replacement "scary skull" but that one sucks, I want the original. eBay has plenty of people parting out their skeletons, and while you can get femurs and rib cages, I haven't been able to find a head. (I believe "servo skull" is not compatible.)
