@fromjason "The best camera is the one you have with you", but for writing.

If you're out and about, or comfortable on the couch, and you pull out your phone to write down some thoughts when they come to you, that seems useful.

If stopping your process to move to a computer desk, or go to get a laptop, would break your train of thought or momentum, then why not stick with the phone?

You can get CoPilot to just dump out the contents of sensitive documents that it can see, with the bonus feature* that your access won’t show up in audit logs.”

Made two new 88x31 buttons for https://url.town. One is dynamic and always shows the total URL population (you can see it on the bottom of the site); the other is for anyone who wants to plop it on a page to indicate that it’s listed on the site.

An 88x31 web button that says "URL TOWN" on the top line, and "LISTED" on the bottom line. It's gray with white text.

This is really more a study in lines than anything else. The simple, unadorned design of the derelict building invites interpreting and exploring abstract forms.

I believe this building, from Treasure Island's time as a naval base, is still standing, but the vegetation is winning.

Types of codebases my customers send me:

- Enterprise javabean factory factory... on a SIM card

- C# programmer retasked to write an authenticated bootloader in C for an arm platform with no training

- Beautiful well-written, easy-to-read C by an experienced systems programmer, with one mind-blowing 100-out-of-100-risk-severity bug buried in miscutils.c

- There is a hermit monk in a cave in Czechia. Once every three years, he emerges with a new revision of the codebase. It is horrifying spaghetti logic that repulses the human soul, but no matter how long and how hard you look, you can't actually find anything wrong with it

looking at real-time'ish telemetry data with the percentage of clients with the update installed never gets old.

A line graph. x-axis is time, y-axis is a percentage of users with the addon update installed. At around 13:40 UTC, the line jumps to ~10% imediately, reaches ~20% at 14 UTC and is now hovering at 30%

No. Your politics are shit because you are adopting the narratives of the right (austerity, racism) and provide no meaningful alternatives.

Today's Confession: I have a cookie recipe that people rave about. My daughter told her mom (who thinks she's the Queen of Cookies), and her Mom called asking me for the recipe. I declined because I deserve special things that my kids could only get at my house. Knowing how toxic that mom is, and that she would convince that daughter to steal the recipe, I replaced the recipe with a modified version. A month later, my son told me, "Moms aren't as good as yours."

As much as I detest the term "agentic AI" for all that it stands for, it's a term that everyone should understand and be conversant about.
