US Constitution, Article VI, Clause 3:

“The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

period. no other mention is made of religion in the main body of the Constitution. Secretary Whiskey Pete should read this, as I think he may have been stoned or asleep that day in Middle School "civics" class.

Periodic reminder - I'm maintaining the Internet of Trash list - https://github.com/unixorn/internet-of-trash/.

This is a list of devices to avoid with the reason why - typically companies like Chamberlain that lock out local control or put it behind a paywall.

If you've found a device that sucks, please make a PR or an issue about it so I can update the list.

Second time I have seen a nicely printed sign in a shop window with a #QR which when scanned says your free trial is over.

Just make the QR go to your own website FFS.

[helpful info: my free code tools https://qr.revk.uk and web QR encoder https://4.gg at bottom of page - includes a lot of QR abuse as well]

The Free Trial of this QR Code has expired. login

Or they're just monitoring IP addresses.

also, is it not plainly fucking horrid that your account creation experience on linux of all fucking things is getting worse due to an unjust, unconstitutional (in the US) law? are you not pissed that muscle memory and scripts will break and command line account creation will get much worse due to this? no objections from the fuckers who campaign against any improvements to the status quo on this one? no? only when doing so fucks over someone else? how weird!

LLMs can't regenerate software from scratch. That's not a thing, nor is it ever likely to be.

But thanks for letting us know you're getting your information about LLMs from LinkedIn posts.

“software can’t just ignore laws it doesn’t like” it literally can. corporations do it constantly and I really doubt any of them will drop linux if it doesn’t comply with a set of godawful fascist age verification laws. historically one of the forms of pushback against unjust laws is to show some basic fucking solidarity and do nothing to assist in their enforcement because it really isn’t practical to sue everybody, but unfortunately solidarity is alien to most of these computer fuckers

It's not much better among women 18-49. (Men over 50 and upper class are the only ones who like AI, and just barely.)

In other words, AI resentment maps pretty directly to how precarious your job situation is. For Gen Z, this is the worst entry level job market in decades."

"digital sovereignty", no, no, you're being weirdly abstract.

Power, today, consists of being able to exert control and take large profits by charging people to live through control of fossil carbon. (Society exists to make you buy gas. It's good at it. The people selling gas make a killing.)

"Age verification" is recognition that they have to stop selling you carbon, so they're going to pivot to controlling if you can have an economic existence.

They're going to rent you being able to live.
