I tend to follow every link in everything I read to check whether the citations are bullshit. But these blocks usually happen on other sites. If I had to make a guess, it'd be that a number of sites are using the same service to prevent abuse and that service is tracking me across sites despite uBlock Origin.
Or they're just monitoring IP addresses.
