Am I petty enough to do this? I don't know. I literally don't have the spoons to rip out all of the LLM from my software stack and I don't think purity is an achievable or worthwhile goal.
But Linus making statements like the one here make me wonder about the long-term future of the project, what talented people do we risk driving out by ignoring the social angle?

From my reading: Wear an N95 and start having sit-ins at MPs offices. The advice from France is don't do it one time but continue to show up every day or week along with physical mails and phone zaps. You can ask for a physical or zoom meeting with your MP. Doing your homework before to present your evidence-backed concerns in a calm manner is the goal. But this would take organization within each riding and a critical mass of people willing to do this on a rotating basis to give each other a break. You'd have to be prepared to face police etc. as in Britain. There are templates from Minneapolis, Britain and other countries on how to do this while trying to protect physical safety.
Whether enough Canadians are willing to do this in a united front is the question. Vancouver is trying to start organizing against data centres, towns across the U.S. are organizing against municipalities to block data centres in their area. There are many small groups like Water Watchers, Clean Air Alliance, Dogwood, Canada Health Coalition, Council of Canadians and so many more doing activist work, all needing donations and support but acting separately. Just some of my thoughts....

My effing gods I am always ranting about this. I am not "economically viable" by the current ridiculous standards of our capitalist hellscape but I am capable, competent, creative and hella motivated. If we were given a chance to contribute in a meaningful way outside of scraping by with whatever we can manage we would be an incredible asset to society. Every single disabled person I know has so much to give to society but it repeatedly blocked and denied access. 😩
