I caught this brief dispute between a blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) and a northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis). Usually a cardinal will make way when a blue jay shows up, but in this moment the cardinal stood its ground, beak wide open in a defiant warning for the jay to steer clear.

A small (ironic) benefit of LLMs is I have slowly become less of a slop coder. Before LLMs I relied a lot on Stack Overflow and random sites for solutions but I got fed up of the slop (and also unemployed, which created more time for thinking). Nowadays I'm much better at pulling up a raw manual when I have a problem and/or figuring it out

We still think in terms of applications because that's the paradigm we grew up with. But perhaps an app was always just a temporary interface between human intent and, uhm, computation?

In suspect in the future, apps become capabilities. The AI becomes the interface layer: dynamically rendering a UI, starting a voice chat, or silently getting things done.

The app was never the product.
