shooting my shot into the wild despite low hopes
to put it quite bluntly does anyone want to make a game with me
UPDATE: to organize this a bit more, let me explain a more what happened so far:
- programmers are less expected now since there are 3 mates, and while things aren't set in stone yet, i'm not looking for these for now
- what we could use a helping hand in is music. no one i know does music or has the resources to participate (no bad feeling, i understand fully), there is a vision for the type of music i am thinking of (something upbeat, cheerful, whimsy, think of 100%OJ's soundtrack or early pop'n music BGM) - however as things unfold we might open up for way more genres
- the project now lives on codeberg, i prepared things that should be somehow a base for the entire thing. once there will be something playable the repo will go public
- it is a godot project
- dm me signal handle if interested, again to reiterate: no one gets paid, the game isn't monetized. at most maybe link everyone's ko-fi or a link to some sort of relief fund on behalf of a member. but no salaries will be involved, it is not a paid project, i know it's asking for a lot but also my goal isn't necessarily to push for a game release like it's a job
- last but definitely no least: AI contributions are not welcome in any aspect, fuck off, if i wanted chatgpt to generate me a game i would have done that myself
anyways :boosts_appreciated:

This administration's energy policy is based on spite and hate. Shocker: the same motivation animates the president's policies across the board.
NYT reports:
"When the Trump administration canceled more than $7.5 billion in Biden-era federal grants for clean energy projects in October, it framed the move as an urgent corrective to protect taxpayer funds from waste.
But it wasn’t true.
In little-noticed court documents, federal officials acknowledged this month that they had terminated the funding “based solely” on political criteria, targeting projects in states that were represented by Democrats and had voted for Kamala Harris, the party’s presidential nominee, in the 2024 election."
The story continues: "“With one exception,” a lawyer for the Energy Department conceded in a court filing this month, “the 284 terminated grants had a recipient location and/or at least one place of performance in a state that awarded its electoral votes to Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and has two Democratic-caucusing senators.”
The lawyer acknowledged that none of the grants were included in the October terminations “based on any programmatic, statutory, cost-reduction or performance-based factor.”

If you've ever wanted to give #postmarketOS device development a try, we're looking for help saving quite a few device ports from being archived: https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/work%5Fitems?sort=updated%5Fdesc&state=opened&label%5Fname%5B%5D=maintainership-status
I have mad respect for folks who maintain and test device ports in pmOS, they're soo important to the continued development of #postmarketOS. For example, I rely on my Pixel 3a to help develop and test #duranium and other (hopefully) neat OS things, but I can't do those things if the device is not maintained and gets archived.

Volunteer or patronize your local Repair Café/Clinic and build relationships!
It's a great way to meet your neighbors!
You have a built-in subject of conversation!
If you're fixing, you get to poke new, weird things!
If you're bringing something, you can save money and keep a thing going instead of throwing it away!
It's a ton of fun, and you get to justify your special interest in some specific household appliance.
