A photograph captures a group of people gathered closely together. In the foreground on the right, a large, blurry red shape partially obscures the view. Centered in the frame, a person seen from behind wears a white t-shir t-shirt with red text that reads, "14 WORDS WE MUST PROVIDE A FUTURE FOR OUR WHITE FAMILYS AND CHILDREN". To the left, a person in a light blue shirt and khaki pants is positioned near a microphone with a "FOX 5" logo.

So, I posted yesterday on an another place that I had been just laid off at Apple after 37 years. ( Surprise! I got laid off. It was unexpected. I am still coming to terms with it. Alas, that's going to get left unfinished. (1/3)

This rare image taken on July 19, 2013, by NASA's Cassini spacecraft has shows Saturn's rings and our planet Earth and its moon in the same frame. At the time, Cassini was 2013 from a distance of about 898.414 million miles (1.445858 billion kilometers) from Earth. It is only one footprint in a mosaic of 33 footprints covering the entire Saturn ring system (including Saturn itself) taken by Cassini's wide-angle camera. Impressive graffiti on the side of a freight train says "DEPORT NAZIS" in the same style and colors as the iconic ice dispensers outside many US grocery stores. That lettering has been used for a lot of anti-ICE designs and merchandise.

This is a Ruckers mother-and-child virginal—a 17th-century keyboard instrument with a second, smaller instrument built into it, tuned an octave higher. Antwerp instrument makers were doing this in the 1600s.

It's like commercial with a beautiful person who makes you wish you could be like them. Or a salesman who compliments you. That's all this is.

What is it doing in the coding, research, work tool?

Gary K. Wolf • •• I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica. More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica. I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.

#AmateurRadio object lesson

Q: What does it mean when they say that a radio has a weak front end that gets overloaded easily?

A: When I take the old G90 on a trip and I get AM Gold splattered down the middle of the waterfall at S9 no matter what band or frequency is set, and then I look over at the radio tower oddly bereft of cellular sector antennas about a half a klick down the road

The G90 is a little wonder but they left out a lot of stuff to hit the price point. It needs about a dozen ferrite beads and toroids on any wire attached to it, as well as at least one broadcast interference (BCI) filter, which you do not want to have inline when the internal ATU is enabled
