I ran out of steam a couple times on Diskuto too, but kept coming back to it over the span of years. It never found many users, but I still use it as my personal news/social aggregator.

I haven't worked on its codebase in a while but I keep wanting to add similar features to `sned` (or something like it) with the lessons I've learned. It would be:

* text-based
* offline/local-first. (sync, then read)
* have sULIDs
* etc. :)

The European Cooperation for Space Standardization has a bare directory where they publish zip files of all active standards in PDF or DOCX as well as their handbooks for said standards with no javascript or gating to be seen.

... then it's totally possible to complete software. The ecosystem is never complete, but this piece can be, because it's not trying to itself be an ecosystem with decades of updates in its future.

This story has everything - the incompetent and nonetheless highly destructive LLM-driven company, the megacorp using the LLM company to do its dirty work while keeping its own hands clean (Microsoft), the misused and heavy-handed copyright system (DMCA), the sensitive point-of-failure software repository (forward slash weapon) ran by the other megacorp (Google, and its cruelly named "Play Store"), the volunteer-ran software repo keeping the whole thing afloat even though their existence is soon threatened (F-Droid), and the wonderful, creative, lovely open-source project in the middle of it all getting completely smashed!

Luanti is excellent, and I hope they get loads of new people jumping in to give the game(s) a try as a result of this vicious and unfair assault.
