I made the mistake of checking the news.

An account of someone who has been unemployed for 4 years and struggles with constant rejections (much like I have done) next to constant hand-wringing over how the government pays young people too many disability benefits.

I feel trapped in the system too; I would like to work but I have no clue who would employ me after so many rejection letters. I get the impression that thanks to fatigue, ASD, and ADHD, I can't work conventionally without burning out but I might be able to cope with unconventional ways of working. But what employer will employ someone who needs adjustments when they can just employ someone who (a) doesn't need those adjustments and (b) who doesn't have a CV gap?

AI companies stealing people’s work and claiming that their AI is making new discoveries. How long before humanity stands up to these companies?

Judging from how folks talk about a fur that passed away recently, as heartwrenchingly sad as that is, it's also a little inspiring.

If one could touch even a hundredth the number of lives he did, in such a positive and uplifting way? Then you're doing incredibly goddamn good.

# Usage: resolve-rootfs-path.sh <!-- raw HTML omitted --> # Output: resolved rootfs path on stdout -- and NOTHING ELSE, EVER. # # All three callers capture this script with $(...) : pre-start.sh, # launch-daemon.sh and ensure-rootfs.sh. Every byte written to stdout here, # including by anything this script runs without redirecting, is concatenated # into the path they then use. There is no validation downstream to catch it; # the cell would simply be started against a garbage rootfs path. # Diagnostics go to stderr. set -eu # The rendered default is retained for caller compatibility; resolution does # not depend on it (it renders to the image-local path everywhere). _default_rootfs="${1:?usage: resolve-rootfs-path.sh <!-- raw HTML omitted -->}" echo "/var/lib/hatch-runtime/rootfs"
