If you own a package manager for an ecosystem as a for-profit company, literally your one job is to make sure that your product model is sustainable for your business model. That's it. That's what you signed up for.
I don't want to hear about sustainability and "the commons" from literal technical private domain landholders who are complaining that the business model they are selling isn't profiting enough.
