like, if there’s a use case for local LLMs and they really aren’t reliant on corporations or states to exist (and I don’t believe either of those things either), what’s the rush to fanaticize over them? all that does is make hardware more expensive and local LLMs less accessible, and it ruins even the remote possibility of solidarity with anyone else. who gives a shit if you’re left behind? what does that even mean?
it’s almost like they love LLMs much more than they hate AI corporations, and are utterly dazzled by their ability to own a GPU and do nothing of value with it
