20+ years ago, I was at the heart of the fight against the introduction of software patents in the EU. And there was one book that we only had as a low-quality scan in PDF. The 1971 „Industrialization without national patents“ by Eric Schiff. A book that is still hard to get. But over the years I managed to get a reprint from the Princeton Legacy library … and the original 1st edition from 1971 that was hiding in the Washington DC library of the International Monetary Fund.
