Addendum: I've been contributing to open source since 1989. I'm not presently looking for specific projects for myself or other people, or for advice on how to find or join projects - I'm wondering if someone is already running a service specifically to pair up retirees (or programmers who are between jobs involuntarily) with a wide range of OS projects.
