@cwebber it’s especially weird for me to see this happening in FOSS spaces, considering that a lot of people contribute to FOSS projects out of a love of programming, a love of building community, and a love of the project itself.
I have no doubt that some of this stuff is great for 10X engineers who code big, complicated systems for a living, but it feels like generative AI just introduces more problems than it solves. It also seems to increasingly rely on a handful of companies who do not produce open code whatsoever, but are more than happy to harvest the commons for profit.
