From my own experience of last night, blocking the Web might have been helpful in some ways but was hardly a cure-all.
At best it probably helped break cycles of reassurance-seeking which is useful as that's when anxiety tends to flare up.
This is not nothing and I'm keeping the blocks up but sometimes I expect my problems to distill down to "too much social media" and... yeah, nah.
Social media has its benefits too (e.g. a place to express myself, a way to deal with loneliness if I'm in an isolated situation) which I actually do find quite valuable, so I'm reluctant to give up the whole thing entirely
