I made a text-based adventure game that sorta looks like a programming language that you interact with in an IDE so you can play while pretending to work.

Playing Games With My Editor for Fun and Profit Abstract — Recent work has explored the relationship between programming and the well-being of programmers, from physical programming languages to systems that improve job security through planned obsolescence. Yet, an important contributor to mental health remains underexplored: play. In this paper, we propose a technological approach to reconciling play and productivity by embedding gameplay within the appearance of legitimate work. We introduce a text-based game whose driver is a server implementing the Language Server Protocol thus integrating with any existing IDE. CCS Concepts: « Software and its engineering — Software creation and management; Programming languages; « Computing methodologies — Interactive games; - Computing education — Employment in computing. Additional Key Words and Phrases: Language Server Protocol, Text Editors, Employment, Games
