TIL from Sir David King, former chief scientific adviser to the UK government, that last year’s global loss and damages due to climate and biosphere destabilisation were around $500 billion.

But latest projections in his team’s Planetary Solvency Plan assessment are that on our current path, loss and damages will rise by 2050 to

$10,000 bn to
$15,000 bn per year.

In other words, a 10% to 15% drop in global GDP *every year*.

Meanwhile, we have politicians still talking about growth 🙄
