I've been really interested in the concept of lateral expertise right now vs expertise trapped in a domain and why good strong evidence based reasoning in one domain doesn't always seem to transfer to another for people.
My motivating example is that I've never forgiven the prominent "cybersecurity" person I saw posting loudly and confidently that masks were "security theater" and had zero value for health in April 2020
