i've come to the following conclusion:
i don't think people spend too much time online. i think the problem is what they spend that time doing. "online" is extremely vague: when i talk to my friends, i'm spending time online; when i watch a video, i'm spending time online; when i read about stuff, i'm spending time online. but also when people spend hours searching out arguments, that's spending time online, too; not all time spent online is equal
