Emphasis on the *some* and *local* LLM usage can be justified. Vulnerability scanning as a kind of linting I think is acceptable as part of developers' workflows, maybe even increasingly important. But we shouldn't be relying on hosted systems for this.
And I consider *search space* LLM usage to be different than *generative* LLM usage (even though they use the same techniques). Whether you are hoisting genAI content upon people is a different matter.
