the takeaway people should have is that all the megacorps have always reserved the right to plagiarize any research you use them for. it's always been super fucking shitty and none of us should ever have accepted it.
only two things have changed.
- LLMs make it feasible for megacorps to actually find the stuff worth stealing
- companies whose focus is LLMs are desperate for good PR, which makes stealing attractive
