I mention the wealth tax because wealth is highly correlated with ecologically unfriendly consumption patterns, and because IMO the inequality of wealth is a huge driver of ecologically unfriendly production patterns as workers are exploited into producing more than the planet can sustain and the value they produce is sucked up by the rich, a wealth tax + redistribution scheme will break this cycle and encourage lifestyles that are less "productive" but more ecologically sustainable. For example if people can afford high-quality clothing, or if I can make a living making high-quality clothing, then that's going to be far more sustainable than relying on fast fashion
