The stinky flowers are blooming! 😄

Growing from a terracotta planter is a succulent plant--the stapelia gigantea--in bloom with a single star shaped flower larger than my extended hand. The flower is yellow, has thin purple fur on it, and dark purple, broken concentric lines that make the flower look a bit like a corpse with veins and such to the flies that are its main pollinators.
Close up of the flower. The "veins" and fur are more distinct.
Another kind of stinky flower growing in a terracotta pot. The flower is about the size of the end of my thumb. It is also a yellow star shaped flower, with veiny maroon markings on the petals. But this one has a raised maroon circle around the center, looking like someone stuck a lifesaver candy onto it.
