@glyph I propose introducing the Metric Light-Second as the standard definition of both distance and time. Lack of convenient overlap means you don't even need to specify unit. So by this standard a Nano is approximately one foot, a micro is about a third of a kilometer, a deci is about the cirucmference of the earth, a hecto is about two minutes and a kilo about 15, a mega is about 11 days, a giga is about 30 years, and all we'll need to do is introduce a new SI prefix for 10^7 for convenience.
