I mean, I’d like to see these technofascists cut down to size just as much as anyone else, but I’d rather that happen in a way that is thoughtful and just. For all its flaws, I still prefer the rule of law, the rule of ever-less-violent social consensus over the rule of violence. I would rather live in a world where we are always making the structures of our society less violent, less coercive, and more just.
I want that. Alas, that is not the direction the world is heading.
