I personally think there are plenty of places where AI _might_ turn out to be useful, or provides the appearance of utility. i tend to think a lot of that is misleading, illusory, or hypothetical, just because of the mountains of evidence of all of those things. I am absolutely _willing_ to be wrong on this but I do not need to *take it as read* that I am wrong while I am *gathering evidence* to try to understand whether I am or not
