seem to be getting somewhere.
using debruijn levels to index terms is indexing by availability - how many indexes/levels are available to use. so getting well-scoped syntax is fairly easy, it's a top down process to scope presyntax.
using named codebruijn indexes by need, so you need to work bottom up and construct the leaves before you can construct the branches (but the availability context within which to form them is constructed top-down...).
honestly, once you've built the equipment you need, it doesn't seem so bad. which is to say i've caused more problems for myself with the structure of the presyntax than the codebruijn has caused me. so far anyway - i'm literally just scoping here.
