@ludicity excellent read. Thank you!
As a CISO in NL Im afraid I see a division. There are CISOs who are critical, like me. Though not as outspoken as I am about it. But there are also those who have become the believers of the "vulnerapocalypse" that are yelling at the top of their lungs we really have to all go and buy AI securitycrap yesterday or we are all doomed through getting attacked by everything AI. The fact that the amount of discovered vulnerabilities is rising sharply, does not mean those will be exploited. That effect will cool down. Fuzzing did the same in the past. But there are even CISOs investing their own money in AI security startups and marketing that.
It scares me. These CISOs are securing parts of our critical infrastructure.
And when I am critical: just as you describe, people act like I said their baby is ugly. Scary.
Will take your advice on all this to not go nuts! Very much appreciated. Keep fighting the good fight.
