Correct me if I'm wrong here… As far as I know, an executive order of a U.S. president is an order for the executive branch of the government: its various agencies and bureaucrats. Nobody else has to follow Trumps orders, neither Google, nor you, nor me. So it follows that no toponyms are "official", they're all just colloquial. So we all can still talk about Gulf of #Mexico and Lake #Ontario as long as people around us understand what we're talking about.
