The Story of the First Fire
Long, long ago, when the world was still young, the animals and people lived in harmony. The days were bright, and the nights were cool, but there was one thing missing: fire. The animals would gather together each night, telling stories and singing songs, but as the stars twinkled above, they often shivered in the chilly air.
One day, a wise old owl named Tsiya noticed that the animals were feeling cold. “We need fire to keep us warm and to cook our food,” he said. “But how can we get it?”
Tsiya called a meeting of all the animals in the forest. “We must find a way to bring fire to our world,” he hooted. The animals agreed, and they all decided to send their bravest friend to seek out the Great Spirit, who was said to have the secret of fire.
The brave little rabbit named Ahyu volunteered for the journey. “I may be small, but I will do my best!” he said, his heart beating with courage. The other animals cheered him on as he set off into the unknown.
Ahyu hopped through the forest, past tall trees and sparkling streams, until he reached a great mountain. At the top lived the Great Spirit, surrounded by a warm, glowing light. With determination, Ahyu climbed the mountain and finally reached the Great Spirit.
“Great Spirit,” he called, “we need fire to warm our homes and cook our meals. Please, can you help us?”
