Like, if you are an author, you get that sort of thing all the time, it's called the difference between your first draft and your third draft, but the audience, especially fans, tend to think of stories as being glimpses into this little pocket universe where the story actually happened and while ideas like parallel universes aren't impossible to grasp they do generally feel a lot more esoteric than a parallel story is generally supposed to come across as.
