Yes, I have loudly and furiously denounced Federico’s decision to return MacStories and his personal account to X.
I wasn’t denouncing a “tech choice”. I was denouncing a deeply hurtful political move. I did it as a trans women of color, as someone who represents an active organization fighting for the rights of its community, as someone who in so many ways is affected by Elon Musk gaining more users and power.
Some of my friends aren’t trans, aren’t women, yet reacted in a similar way because they have chosen to take action on this front to support those who are impacted.
This is political action. That it happens on a small scale in regard to one tech publication and its editor-in-chief doesn’t change that fact.
