"Improving recipe" to me has the same connotation as the recent "price upgrade" from Hulu.

Sign at the cooler in the grocery store where they store the humus saying: We are temporarily experiencing out of stocks on many of our humus varieties as we are improving our recipe with some ingredient changes. These will be back in stock as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.
