In some ways this is kind of a sad "doing the least" story much like my own. Sending a private email saying "gross, dude. it is fucked up that you said that, it really hurt some people. knock it off" should not have to be a profoundly brave thing that might cause you stress for half your life. But so it goes.
If more men would stand up and do this on a regular basis maybe it wouldn't have to be.
