Reminds me of a great study by the US military back during WW2 trying to find the "average" build to design their airplane cockpits to. After a significant amount of work gathering data from all across the country, they found that nobody fit the "average adult male" measurements they came up with, so it was better to make everything adjustable to fit any pilot than to aim for a static "average"
