The horror that people felt with "some people spend 10 hours a day online" was one where people are spending 10 hours a day with other people, even if through a tiny little pipe. Replacing that with spending 10 hours a day with a concentrated sycophancy superhuman drip is not the same thing. The kind of nightmares from "information bubbles" like incel forums and 4Chan look like nothing when you shrink the bubble to one. At least fringe movements could be observed in some way because they had to pass from person to person.
