If there's one thing that will stick with me from the whole way AI has played out, it's how intensely damaging it has been for tech to become one of the first new post-Reagan industries. Not only did tech workers not get the same opportunities for labor representation as had been fought for and won elsewhere, but Reaganite "right to work" and deregulation propaganda convinced so many tech workers that they shared more common interest with capital owners than other laborers.
