I'm not very good at this stuff, but the logs seem to indicate that this was a deliberate erase, and not hardware failure:
- iBoot logged failure reason 101, normal boot failed and the laptop went into activation lock, then recovery.
- The APFS container has no macOS system (bootcaches.plist gone)
- logs have NVRAM showing recovery-boot-mode and one-time-boot-command were set, there was a programmatically requested recovery boot prior to the wipe.I don't have any emails from Apple or anything weird going on in my Find My. Still very uncertain about what happened.
