The most upsetting thing about LLMs is I still very much like working with tech but it feels like the LLM mania really occludes the joy. I'm wondering if I'm being left behind (because I am a social animal who unfortunately gets FOMO), I'm side-eyeing projects to figure out if it's slop and if I want to tolerate that slop, and it feels like there's far less genuine progress in software dev because of all the LLM nonsense (partly it's taking up literally all the oxygen and I suspect there's a bunch of deskilling happening right now)

I take refuge that there seems to be far less of that mania in gamedev, it's much easier to find resources that aren't (obviously) slop or about AI, for example I just watched a video exploring Slay the Spire 2's decompiled codebase
