I visited more temples today on my trip to Japan. These photos are from Kuhonbutsu Joshin-ji Temple. It was so beautiful and peaceful here, which attracted some of the locals to walk or jog through for their morning exercise. Several ravens were in attendance, cawing as we went by.

The main hall of this temple, seen from between two trees. There is a wide stairway with bright red railings, leading to a squat building with a green triangular roof and a golden ornament on top that looks like an spherical sun with needle-thin rays surrounding it. The sliding door entrance is currently closed, with tall blue and red cloth banners on either side with Japanese writing.
Stone steps cut through a lush, shaded area with trees and tall grass, which partially hides stone statues of bodhisattvas on either side. It leads to a small wooden building with a sweeping green-tile roof. The entrance has statues on either side, one seems to be a Buddha while the other is a standing figure with many arms.
A green Buddha statue with gold accents sits on a stone base, decorated with two bouquets of pink and white flowers. A few round stepping stones lead up to it, with greenery and mossy barked trees behind.
