It's been roughly a year since I started making art again full-time(ish). The main purpose has been to heal my relationship with my work (and art as a whole, to a degree).
I always knew I needed to "make things for myself", but I never internalized what that REALLY meant.
But I think to me it means like, allowing myself to sometimes go into an art piece without any specific expectations. It's not to serve a greater project, or get me attention. I just follow the whimsy wherever it takes me.
