Actually that's a fallacy we proved at Intel empirically a number of times. Some chips were documented and some weren't, the ones with complete documentation *ALWAYS* did better volume than the ones without.What is true is that going "half way" sucks, if you only partially document it then your FAEs get swamped with requests for help.
