I get an announcement of a new single from a band that went quiet while raising kids. Cool! I follow the link to a streaming service that's accessible to me (they're on bandcamp, but this single isn't). There's actually two tracks. Double cool!

Great music, and I'm looking forward to hearing more in the near future, but then the streaming service keeps going after the two songs and starts playing some slop music.

It is atrocious. Like the "music" is passable in some sense, but the "mix", if you call it that, is muddy and the vocals in particular sound like somebody passed it through something that generates a lot of hissing noise. No human would mix music so it sounded like that (this was not done for effect), certainly not with the vocals.

Anyway, I'm no fan of streaming services for music, but like hell I'm going to pay for a service that places "AI" slop next to thoughtful, creative, hardworking artists. Completely disrespectful.
