The original post was unclear, but they are setting themselves up for what some might consider "fraud" and their "AI agent" has "confirmed that it would be fraud in firsthand communication under company letterhead"

So we'll see if the chatbot can uh talk to the billing system

Hi Jonathan, Writing to you about the lost signal in your [car] again. Your monthly price is based on how many miles you actually drive, so we’ll need to apply an offline fee of 150 miles per day to insure your car if your device isn’t always connected.
The endorsement separately addresses other data outages: “Other than uninstalls and non installs or tampering of device data by the customer … if there is an outage of data, resulting in missing mileage data,” the policy calls for using the vehicle’s daily average from the previous 75 days when available, or 14 miles per day when that history is unavailable. So, the policy does not say every signal loss automatically results in a 150-mile offline fee, and the earlier email did not explain that distinction clearly. Your account currently shows no offline fee, and the [car] remains within its automatic grace period.
