The bargain was basically "you make the stuff, we provide design, research, services, software, and financial markets"
Now they seem to be "de-servicing" as well:
- US films and TV are being shot abroad
- Software dev and related are being outsourced to LLMs and the shift from US models to cheaper non-US ones seems certain
- Finance is all-in on "AI" while tariffs and trade wars destroy its fundamentals1/2
