In a very real way, the hazing and bullying was meant to push you back into the closet, to make you deny it, make you act differently to stop it, and eventually stop thinking about it.
Even some girls who knew opted to hide rather than eat shit on a daily basis for the first 18 years of their lives.
There's no shame in that.
