My biggest *technical* objection to LLMs, that is far less important than my *ethical* objections, is that they are not "everything machines" that can replace specialized algorithms and models.
Machine learning is an incredibly rich field with an immense amount of different ways to solve specific tasks, and it's a travesty to see that all flattened to feeding different prompts to an LLM and applying thoughts and prayers.
